What a great day we had at Wincanton yesterday, with First Quests fantastic win and Agent Saonoir running a creditable race to finish in 3rd place. First Quest ran a fantastic race leading from flag fall to the winning line given a great ride by Conditional jockey Hugh Nugent, to win by a comfortable 7 lengths. It is particularly pleasing considering the horse was off for 337 days recovering from his serious head injury. He is now showing the form he was in when we bought him. Since April he has run 6 times, finishing 1st twice, 2nd twice, 3rd once and 6th when he ran at Southwell where they took out most of the hurdles due to the setting sun, which did not suit him. He now has a career earnings of £34,763. He has turned out to be a very nice horse and plenty more to come as he is only 7. Agent Saonoir ran a very pleasing race to finish in 3rd place. Sam settled him in 3rd place , he jumped the first 3 a little big, then settled and was very good at the remaining hurdles. Sam was very pleased with him and he believes he will win hurdles in the Spring and he will jump a fence in time. He hopefully will get a handicap mark Tuesday week, then he will have a couple of months break when the ground is soft. He will come back in early January and be prepared for a Spring campaign. We have a lot to look forward to with this lovely grey. Glenview Beauty - Neil is very pleased with her progress. She will go to Wincanton for a racecourse gallop as soon as the course allows it. She will then start off in NH flat races. Caroline's Charm will go to Newbury on Thursday, 4th November if the going is suitable.
Happy days ahead.
