Cherry Cola ridden by Rose Dawes ran a fantastic race to win by 2 1/2 lengths at Yarmouth yesterday.
Rose gave the mare a superb ride sticking to the inside rail, when a gap appeared at the 3 furlong mark she went through it to the front and ran on to the line for a comfortable win.
As a child Rose and her family went to Yarmouth Races for the season every year, when there she told her family that she would be a jockey one day and win a race at Yarmouth. Her dream was fulfilled yesterday.
She will continue running on the flat and over hurdles during the Summer months as she needs firm going.
Cherry Cola has come out of the race well and she has been entered in the 5.12 at Lingfield next Thursday, 1st June. The race is a 51-70 handicap over a distance of 2 miles.
Mr Freedom has also been entered in the 4.42 on the same card. The race is a 46-60 handicap over a distance of 1mile 3 furlongs 133 yards.
