Neil's Latest News

National Hunt Season Warming Up The national hunt season is hitting full swing and the transition from summer jumps to winter action did not seem to halt the momentum of the yard and we have celebrated numerous winners in recent weeks. September started with a smooth success from Frau Georgia who pulled clear to win well at Perth and later the same day, we recorded a double when Renegade Arrow won what looked to be a very decent bumper. Tom Scudamore was up in Perth two ride the two winners on a day where the yard also had two placed runners. The next meeting at the same track saw Jaunty Soria made the long trip up worthwhile by recording a victory at the Scottish track and this time it was Sam Twiston-Davies who came home with a winner. Later in the month, on a day where the soft ground looked like it might hurt the chances of the yard’s runners, Translink (pictured below) and Ballymilan failed to read the script at Worcester and both came home in front. It was another winner for Tom and one for Angus Cheleda. It was great to win a big Saturday afternoon race in early October when Chirico Vallis really put his head down and battled to the line to record a narrow win at Chepstow under Richie McLernon and that was followed up with another double when Hidden Depths and Peltwell provided a winner each for Sam and Tom. A great week was rounded off when Lord Accord won at Uttoxeter with Richard Patrick in the saddle. A week later we were back in the Saturday afternoon winners when Kansas City Chief plugged on resolutely from the front to repel all challenges and hang on for the win at 20-1 at Cheltenham, a first winner for the stable for Victoria Malzard. The next day saw another winner as all four of the yard’s runners managed to get into the first three at Wincanton, with First Quest doing the best and winning under Hugh Nugent. November started well with Peltwell winning her sixth race in a row and Brief Times was a second winner this week (both ridden by Sam) and looks another great prospect for the yard before yet another bumper winner was recorded as Super Duper Sam came home in front with Brendan Powell on board at Newbury to maintain the great form of the yard.
