Happy New Year
With the current restrictions spreading and getting tougher, we must hope that racing continues to take place. Fortunately, the sport has had a really good safety record since the restart last year and whilst it is a shame that spectators (and in many cases owners) will not able to attend race meetings in the coming weeks, if we can keep the show on the road, then hopefully everyone can continue to enjoy the racing.
Let's hope that the racing is unaffected, as runners from the yard have put in several good performances in recent days!
Percy Pops was a nice winner at Doncaster last Tuesday, with jockey Harry Reed recording his third winning ride since Christmas and this was followed up on Wednesday with an across the card win double! Chinwag who was ridden by Millie Wonnacott, kicked things off with a nice win in the opener at Taunton, taking the lead in the home straight and never looking likely to be overhauled and Golden Emblem brought up the double at Market Rasen, running on really gamely for Sam Twiston-Davies to finish in front.
With several other runners finishing placed or running well, the horses appear in good form and hopefully can continue to record some success in the coming days.
Hopefully, the restrictions did not spoil your celebrations of New Year too much and let's hope that 2021 sees a return to the racecourse for spectators and owners and that owners, racecourses and all those involved in the training and care of the horses have a really successful year.
