Wintry Winners!
After several weeks of very soft ground, now it is very hard as it is frozen!
There was heavy snow at the yard on Sunday, but the weather is forecast to be milder in the coming days, so hopefully, any disruption to racing will only be short-term.
Despite the soft ground and snow, the yard managed to record two more winners since the last update. Sandymount Rose won again and was impressive at Ludlow, coming home in front by seven lengths despite being eased down. She is certainly in great form at the moment! Sam Twiston-Davies was in the saddle this time, but the change of jockey did not change the result as she won her second consecutive race.
It was a week of success for the mares as the other winner was Molly Carew who won at Taunton on Saturday. She was backed all the way into 100-30 favourite which was hard to justify on the form of her previous two runs, but she bounced right back to form to provide Millie Wonnacott with another winner.
With Wincanton’s card on Wednesday looking at risk of abandonment, it may be later in the week before the yard sends out more runners, but fingers-crossed the current form will be maintained and there will be further success to report soon!
